The congregations within the church of Christ the world over are united in one faith by the word of God (Ephesians 4:3-6). Jesus Christ is the head of the church, and not the minister, elders, deacons, or any voted or appointed board of individual (Ephesians 1:22-23).
The church of Christ is nondenominational with no central headquarters, governing body, or leader. We speak where the bible speaks and we are silent where the bible is silent. We do not follow the contemporary teachings of man but the documented teachings of Jesus Christ. Our worship service is as it is found in the bible complete with acapella singing.
Individuals who hear the word (Romans 10:17; St. Matthew 7:24-27), believe in Christ (Hebrews 11:6; St. John 3:16, St. Mark 16:15-16), repent of their sins (Luke 13:3-5: Acts 2:38; 17: 30-31), confess faith in Christ (Romans 10:8-10; Matthew 10:32-33: Acts 8:36-37), and are baptized into the church of Christ for the remission of their sins (Romans 6:3; Galatians 3:27; Acts 22:16; I Peter 3:20-21) are known as Christians, and within the congregation these members are addressed simply as “Brother” or “Sister.”
